Gavin’s one of those really amazing people who truly believes in what he does, putting it into practice every day. So he’ll set himself goals (both in his work and personal life), and he’ll always achieve them.
He never stops thinking, never stops looking for new learning opportunities, and loves sharing what he’s learned. Every spare minute he can grab, he’ll be listening to a new book. He’ll often share snippets of theory: “Do you know what’s going on in someone’s brain to make them behave like that?” It’s great for work, and really valuable for family life!
His appetite for learning extends to making sure he really gets to know the organisations he works with, too. He absolutely must know about a client’s values, their business aspirations, challenges and frustrations – so that he can represent these effortlessly when he’s working with them.
Gavin is funny, sharp, always interesting to listen to. He’s thorough, reflective. He has this great knack of being able to break a tricky concept into manageable chunks. He uses his own experiences of being in the military, of business, of sport – of life, to tell stories. All these things really do help people to ‘get’ Gavin’s training, and to be inspired to change their behaviour as a result.
Gavin is great at ‘rallying the troops’, and, when he worked at O2, was the face of their “what good looks like” campaign. That was a while ago, and life at Loaf is rather different, but I still reckon that accolade is just as valid today!
